Fishing Notes

It is a good time to catch some nice fish at Lake of the Ozarks. Due to the late spawn, post spawn fish are hungry and feeding. They seem to be stacked up on bluff ends and main channel points anywhere from just above the drop off into the river channel to about 15-20 yards from the drop off in 15′ to 30′ of water. We have found the heavy jigs like the Crock-o-Gator 3/4 oz – 1 oz jig in varying colors depending on water clarity and the heavy shaky heads like the Crock-o-Gator 5/8 oz with a senco or trick worm have worked well. Coves with deep water also produced well today on the end of lay downs. Stop into Fitz Fishing in Osage Beach www.fitzfishing.com will have these baits and will help you with what the fish are doing and where to catch them based on where you are on the lake. But, before you load up on baits, call Jack at Jacks Guide Service www.fishinglakeoftheozarks.com. I guarantee you that Jack will put you the fish pattern and then go to Fitz to get your baits for the remainder of your stay at the lake. It is a good time to catch big fish, but you have to know where they are and what to catch them on, Jack, Wayne and James Dill baits and guide service, will get you on the good fish.
