Fishing Notes |
---|
Although it was the 4th of July with plenty of boat traffic, which is often very difficult for bass fishing due the big waves, we were able to fish with grandkids and kids in large no wake coves in the Grand Glaize, including party cove. While it may be an adventure getting to these large no wake coves, if you take it slow and cautious, you can get to these coves and fish comfortably all day. Refer to Bassing Bob Weekend Angler Publication and elsewhere on the website to find these no wake coves. Fish today were hitting the crank bait anywhere from right on the bank back to the boat in 20′ of water. Large chunk rock points and channel banks seem to be the key banks, a slight bit of wind and boat chop on the water seemed to produce more strikes. Early evening a front came through which did not seem to affect the bite, after the front good fish were still caught close to the bank with a crank bait as well as in 10′ of water on the jig. |
