5 pounder was caught on small hump on a deep water point. Other in 25 foot brush pile on secondary point. non keepers were caught on a crankbait in large schools of shad |

There was light generation today and the boat traffic picked up early. Fished a couple hours in the Glaize around main and secondary points. I also fished around some docks that have been producing. The areas that the fish were caught on had numerous amounts of shad on the depth finder. The 5 pounder hit on a hump in 12 feet of water that tapers sharply into 45 feet of water. The other on a brush pile in 25 feet of water. There were occasionally schools of bass attacking the shad. The crankbait came in handy to catch a few but were small bass. The screen on the depth finder showed several streak as the fish came up to bust the shad. I was able to catch a couple of those as well. |
