Fishing Notes

Today was a lot of fun fishing with Shane Green from Robins Resort from the 26MM to Lynn Creek. We started out early in the morning fishing top water baits along the side of docks in the backs of cove pockets, we caught a couple of fish and a keeper on this pattern and had several bass blow-up on our baits but we did not hook em. As the shade vanished, we fished a sea wall with a narrow band of shade with wind hitting directly on the sea wall, again with top water baits. We had several blow ups on our baits and caught one keeper on the sea wall. The fun really began as we started to fish the sides, tops and corners of docks with wind on the main channel from racetrack cove to Linn Creek. We caught fish on at least 3 out of 4 docks fished. Several short fish, but also some keepers. Shane had a good keeper, 5 pound plus bass come undone as the big hawg pulled away from the boat deep under the dock. Most of the fish came off of the corner of the dock with the wind and the current hitting the dock side and corner, however we caught fish and had bites on all sides of the docks and in the dock wells. The best fish of the day that was landed weighed 3.3 pounds. We also had some nice fat keeper Kentucky’s on this pattern as on wave breaks. The medium sized Heddon Torpedo bait, worked all day by Shane, had by far the most bites today. In addition to catching a lot of fish and getting many bites, Shane and I had a great time fishing, just two guys fishing hard and goofing off hard to. When you visit Robins Resort, ask Shane about our adventure trying to retrieve Shane’s shirt, which blew out of the boat. I promise you will LOL. Thanks for the enjoyable and memorable day Shane.
