Fishing Notes |
---|
After heavy morning storms, the air temperature cooled off a bit as did the water temperature. I fished today from 4:30PM – 8:00PM. Considering the holiday boat traffic, I fished a no wake cove for a couple of hours in the channel area that runs between the Osage and Glaize. Last week we had some good success fishing backs of coves and the end of docks/condo docks. Neither of those patterns produced a single bite. After a couple of hours of working those patterns, I began to target brush piles on end and sides of docks with a plastic worm. The brush piles produced a couple of short fish and I missed a couple of good bites. Then I moved to a long narrow cove with deep water in the mid cove area and got some good bites from bass that were holding tight to laydowns and wood. On that pattern I caught one small keeper and had a good keeper, 3 pounder come undone at the boat. Bassing Bob expert, Jack Uxa of Jack’s Guide Service, www.fishinglakeoftheozarks.com, reported having a good bite on his afternoon guide trip on points. While Jack did not report what baits, I would guess a Crock-o-Gator football head jig and/or a Crock-o-Gator Shaky Head with Yum Dinger style worm. You can get Crock-o-Gator baits at Fitz Fishing Tackle and Supplies in Osage Beach, www.fitzfishing.net. |
