Fishing Notes

All of the conditions seemed so right today for a good bite, however, I could not stick any good fish. I fished some bluffs from the 8mm to the Gravois, hoping that the bait fish would start emerging from the channel for a good bluff bite, but the bait fish are not there yet. I fished some long tapering points, there was bait fish on some of these points, but I only caught a couple of short fish. About half of my time today was spent fishing in the backs of coves. I am not too familiar yet with the big coves in that area, so much of my time was searching for bait fish in the backs of coves. When I found bait fish, I worked the docks with a brush hog and jigs, skipping under the docks, but no takers. The only consistent bite I had was fishing in the middle of the coves shallow running a rattle trap around the bait fish. I had one very good blow-up on a spook on the corner of a condo dock with wind hitting directly on the corner.
