Fishing Notes |
---|
Today we explored the river between the 55 and 60 mile. It was more about locating bait fish and getting familiar with that area of the river although we did spend some time fishing. We found large schools of shad in the very back flat of Proctor Creek. The bass were occasionally busting the shad but we had no takers. We moved to the river and fished several shallow docks. We had caught a few shorts on a buzzbait. The shallow bite was not working today for us but am not ruling out that bite. Several tournaments have been won lately fishing these river docks. We moved to the opposite side of the river along the bluffs. The shad were plentiful on the bluffs in huge numbers for very long stretches. The shad were a foot below the surface and migrating down the river. We caught several shorts and one keeper on the bluff ends. We finished the day in the Glaize fishing spooks. We had several explosions but only managed to land a few shorts. |
