Fishing Notes

Two days ago my motor started to lose compression while running to the dam, then yesterday on Thanksgiving it started to rumble loud and clatter. After consulting with Marty’s Marine, it seems that I have bearing problem or something like that. So, as they do not open again until Tuesday, I will be confined to moving around with my trolling motor. So, if anyone wants to know ever contour and brush pile around my cove, just let me know, I am sure I will know every bit of this cove and pockets.

So, without much mobility today, I started about noon and fished behind the Parkview Bay condos, throwing the buzz bait, spinner and jig, but no takers. Then worked Red Bud Cove, which is directly across from my condo complex. I did not have my first bite of the day until 3:30 while working the shady bank of Red Bud Cove which at the time had a bit of wind. I caught two short fish on that bank. Then I fished around the big rocky bluff end between Red Bud Cove and Pin Oak cove and caught one short fish. As I had a few blow ups at the top of Red Bud cove, I circled back on that bank and fished it again and caught a 3 pound Kentucky/Spotted Bass. Tomorrow I plan to work the condo dock backs again, but early when they have shade, there are a great number of large gizzard shad on the big rocks behind the docks. If any BB members have a fishing report from other parts of the lake, please email to me at bob@bassingbob.com. Please include water temperature as this time of the year water temperature variances on different areas of the lake can make a big difference.

Yesterday (Thanksgiving Day), BB member Mike Koenig reported catching 4 keepers on a spinner bait at the 20mm of the Osage. Good fishing Mike!!
