Fishing Notes

Today set up a bit differently than the past couple of days, today was sunny with moderate wind. I fished similar creek channel banks today close to the backs of big coves as I have the past couple of days, but today that bite just was not on until I fished similar banks with shade. Shade seemed to be the key condition for catching bass. I worked some bluffs today, just subtle bluffs around the tops tops of big coves, not the big main channel bluffs, the bass were biting on this pattern in about 10-12 feet of water with the jig falling off the ledges. The jerk bait produced well today also with shade and slight wind on secondary points and just inside of small coves in about 8′-12′ of water with a countdown of about 12 between 3 short but strong twitches of the jerk bait. My jerkbaits are slightly weighted to fall very slowly with a slight downward angle from the tip of the bait.
