Fishing Notes

Today I got my boat back after being down for repairs after 2 weeks. So, we did not travel too far as I need to break in the motor and take it easy on it for a while. A big thanks to Marty’s Marine who battled hard for me with Yamaha to have the repairs covered under warranty as the paperwork on the motor was not perfected prior to the motor problem. Also, thanks to Ben Verhoef – my friend, fishing partner and president of Mizzou Bass Fishing Club for helping today with picking up the boat, getting it into the water and shuffling boats around. Today Jack, Ben and I had a good afternoon fishing, while we did not catch any hawgs it seemed that every 10- 15 minutes or so someone was getting bit. We caught quite a few bass including 4 keepers in 6′-10′ of water mostly over deeper water 15′ – 25′. The bite was a bit soft on the jerkbait and the A-Rig and the presentation was generally slow. We also caught several huge crappie on the jerkbait and of course a few drum :).
