Fishing Notes |
---|
Today was no different than this entire week, the bite is very tough. Although the graph is showing bait fish and fish, the fish seem to be relating to slight drop offs in 12′-25′ of water and brush piles. The conditions seemed ideal today, we fished several areas that always hold winter time bass. The bass were there, they just are not biting, I guess they have the winter blues. Their home temperature has dropped from 45-47 degrees to 37-40 in the past week and a half and the roof on their homes has been lowered by about 2 feet with the dam generation this past week, I think the fish are feeling a bit sick. However, tomorrow will be our first day of sunshine in 3 days, they should be used to their new living conditions and it is likely they are very hungry and the bite should turn on this weekend. While many schools of bait fish are deep on the bottom, we did see some balls of shad mid way in the water column today. With some sunshine this weekend, the bait should get higher in the water and the bass will follow. Today we threw the jerk bait, A-Rig and jig. Stay tuned for a big bite tomorrow from Bassing Bob Tournament anglers. |
