Fishing Notes |
---|
The fish are in quite funk from a fisherman perspective. Wayne and I fished a tournament on Saturday and we only boated a couple of crappie. We fished most of Waynes really good spots from the 10mm to the dam. The fish were there are the graph but they are just not biting. We worked 27 spots Saturday, targeting about every type of structure and cover that fish hang out but could not get a bite. Sunday, I worked many of my good spots in the Glaize and coves from 21mm to just past the toll bridge, I had the same results, not bites. We threw fast sinking jerk baits, jigs and threw the A-Rig about 65% of the time, working all baits deep 15′-30′ of water. The weights for the tournaments were very low, Saturday tourney was won with 14 pounds and Sunday Tourney with just under 10 pounds. A lot of boats got skunked or only had a few bites all day. Hopefully this week will change the fish a bit as the dam plans to draw down the lake by 2 feet this week, this will be the first major draw down since the beginning of the year and hopefully wake up these fish. |
