Fishing Notes

While I had best intentions to fish today, it turns out that not only did one of my prop blades break, but my prop shaft was bent. As my motor is a Yamaha and not a Mercury, it will take about a week to get the parts….grrrrr. However, a giant thanks to Bassing Bob expert Jack Uxa, Jacks Guide Service and my brother Dave, who now owns Jacks previous boat, I have a boat in the water this evening and shall be able to fish tomorrow (weather dependent) and this weekend until the part comes in for the Yamaha. Please, please, please BB members, contact Jack’s Guide Service for a trip. Not only will Jack get you on fish, you will learn a ton about fishing Lake of the Ozarks and have a fishing friend to help you for life. He is a man with one of the highest levels of character and genuinely interested to help us average fisherman. As an incentive to use Jack for a guide trip, the first BB member to email me bob@bassingbob.com, I will pay for a half day guide trip with Jack booked from not through February 15th. That is Jacks slow time and he would welcome any guide trips right now….ask him to take you below the dam for a trip, that is a great experience, although right now below dam maybe tough due to the heavy discharge from the dam and high waters. However, if you ever want to really fun experience that isolates the fish and different from the main lake, book Jack for a trip below the dam. I will look forward to the member that is first to email me for a trip with Jack on Bassing Bob. Finally, the water on the lake is coming down rapidly, I would say close to one foot drop since yesterdays generation. This should get the fish stacked up on points in the next several days and make fishing much better in the coming days/weeks.
