Fishing Notes |
---|
Fished the Niangua Arm down to the 13MM of the Niangua. The coves near the Osage such as Libby Hollow and Anthony Hollow were 38-39 degrees. The area near the 13mm of the Niangua was the most productive with the water temperature reaching 47 degrees. The coves around the Little Niangua and Barnes Hollow Cove were 42-43 degrees. The bass were caught in 1-4 feet of water on very flat banks with the wind blowing directly on them. The boat was in anywhere from 4-6 feet of water and yet a long cast to the bank. The jerkbait did not require long pauses as in the colder water and the bite was a bit stronger than normal. These fish seemed a bit more aggressive in this warmer water as they moved on these shallow flats. We had a few other hits on these type banks but did not hook up. With the high temperatures on Monday of 72 and on Tuesday with 77 degrees, these flat areas should be productive and can warm quickly into the low 50’s |
