Fishing Notes

Today was rainy and stormy, but there seems to be something about this kind of weather that makes the bass bite a little better. Today, I started out flipping a jig and tube behind docks near spawning pockets.I had a few bites including a 3.2 pounder. I also had bites on chunky rock banks and transition banks in toward the backs of coves and pockets. Dave joined me for a couple of hours this afternoon and he proceeded to catch a nice 4.2 pound female on a spinner bait. It was caught in a cove pocket in shallow water about 3 feet deep, the cove pocket was pretty much all pea gravel. Fish were also biting on the jerk bait today on chunky rock banks in about 4-8 feet of water. We also had 5 drum bites today, grrrrr.
