Fishing Notes |

Today was a fun day fishing with Brent Frazee, Outdoor Writer for the Kansas City Star and Jim Divincen, LOZ Executive Director of Tri-County Lodging. We caught several short fish today and one small boated keeper, a keeper that made it to the side of the boat and came un buttoned and a keeper that broke off on a cable behind the dock. We worked from secondary points back into the backs of coves/pockets in party cove and red bud cove, however our better bites and keeper fish were in large pockets by condo docks. While we caught several short fish, the bite was not very consistent for shorts and we were truly in the hunt for a nice keeper (a photo fish for the newspaper), that fish never materialized. The good news, is that on Wednesday, Brent caught a 6.7 pounder on a jig in the Dam area fishing with LOZ legend Vern Jaycox, 81 year old avid fisherman and successful tournament fisherman from years past. |
