Fishing Notes |
---|
Today I continued to search for spawning fish on beds in preparation for a tournament on Sunday. Today was a bit easier to see the fish as there was more sun light than the past few days that have been too cloudy and windy. However, while I was able to find a number of bedding areas and beds, it was still not ideal for seeing whether there were fish on the beds or not. I did find a few good 4-5 pounders on some beds so I marked them on my graph and wrote notes about their location. I did not fish for any of these fish. I did notice today that the new beds that I have been seeing the last couple of days a bit shallower than when the water was down, the fish are coming up onto these beds, however these seem to be smaller fish than what I was finding last week. I did flip to these smaller shallower fish and they were very skittish, not really locked on the beds yet. The fish that I did catch today were on the Dirks jig and the Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver rigged on a Fitz Fishing Bait Keeper Head. I also threw a 6″ lizard and Carolina Rigged brush hog, but no takers, however, I really did not fish very much today as I was mostly searching. |
