Fishing Notes

Today was a busy day just trying to get on the lake to get some time fishing, finally my son and I got to get our baits wet about 2:00PM and we had to stop at 4:00. In those couple of hours we had a pretty consistent bite mostly on the jig and tube. As I was preparing for a tournament tomorrow, I was throwing everything (junk fishing) to see what they would or wouldn’t bite. When I got a bite on a specific bait, I would put it down and throw something else. The bass did not seem to be too particular about the bait today. We caught bass on the jig, tube, trick worm and lizard. I also had blow ups on the zara spook, but put it down because I am confident that there is a good top water bite going on right now, hopefully will be good in the morning, as the top water bites came shallow with shade. There are lots of fish swimming shallow, bass on beds, bass behind docks, etc. However, most fish we were seeing and catching were not the really big heads, 4-6 pounders.
