Fishing Notes |
---|
After only being able to fish about an hour yesterday and catching a couple of short ones, Dave and I got on the water today about 3 and fished til 8:00. We were exploring a lot of different types of structure/cover and locations in preparation for a tournament on Sunday out of Larry Gale in the Niangua. Several Bassing Bob members had emailed me some suggestions, which I greatly appreciate and we were able to experiment with their suggestions. Our most consistent bite today came on bluff cuts and bluff ledges, however they were all cookie cutter 14 inchers, no big ones. We caught a 4+ pounder on a main lake point and a small keeper on a main lake point, both in about 12-14 feet of water. I had a 5+ pounder come undone off a bluff cut. We both saw the fish, I thought I had it hooked good, but when he jumped he shook the shaky head. Hopefully we can go back and catch that one on Sunday. Tomorrow Dave and I will be able to practice for the majority of the day, so hopefully we can establish a pattern to put together a credible showing on Sunday. |
