Today was just a fun relaxing day fish with my daughter Lisa. Lisa works for Bassing Bob designing ads for the Fishing News Magazine, designing brochures and much more. It was fun to be able to get back on the water with her. Today was Lisa first day of using a baitcaster and I am by no means an expert on using them. She wanted to learn to flip and cast and there was no better place to experiment than bluffs. She did a tremendous job and am very proud of how well she did with it. The fish today were caught on main lake bluff ledges, bluff cuts and bluff ends. The bluff bite came on the fall off the ledge into deeper water. For the most part we were in the channel anywhere from 60+ casting into 10-25 where the channel swings to the bank. Although most of the bass were not that big that bite was somewhat on. I had a 5+in a bluff cut throw the jig 1/2 way back on the retrieve. According to a few anglers I was talking to today, with the lack of generation the past couple days they have been catching really nice ones in 15-25 feet brush piles just inside main lake creeks. |
