Fishing Notes |
---|
This morning I got on the water about 11:00 and fished until about 1:00, I was experimenting in a cove at the 23mm that I have never fished, looking for brush piles and learning the contours of the cove. I started in the shallow backs of the cove throwing the buzz bait with overcast skies with no bites, then worked the docks and watched my graph for brush piles. I finally caught a small keeper and a short fish off a brush on the worm in about 15′ of water. I marked several brush piles and I think that the cove can produce well in those brush piles. This evening I got back on the water after watching Germany destroy Brazil in the soccer world cup. I got on the water about 5:30 and fished til 7:30. The dam was pulling a lot of water late afternoon and evening, so I targeted main lake points and bluff ends from the 18mm – 15mm. The bite was on and the fish were where they are expected to be when water is being run through the dam this time of year. I had 5 keepers and a few short ones, some nice fish mostly in about 15′- 30′ of water on the Crock-o-Gator jig. |
