Fishing Notes

Today I picked up Denise Dill, Bassing Bob Womans Pro Advisor at 7:30AM from Shawnee Bend Access Ramp. We fished a main lake long sloping point early, Denise caught a short bass on a Crock-o-Gator Jig immediately, then I caught a catfish on a COG jig. We then fished some additional main lake points and bluffs with no bites. We then fished a main lake point in the Gravois, starting out fishing deep in 25-30′ of water with no bites, so we trolled a bit shallower and found a school of bait fish and fish in 15-20′ of water, we caught one keeper and a couple of shorts in that school. Then we went on to fish some brush piles in Lick Branch cove, we caught another keeper and some shorts in brush piles in about 13′ – 20′ of water on a 10″ Texas Rigged Worm. We finished our day about 1:30 fishing some bluffs, with another keeper on the COG Football Head Jig in 15′ of water a couple of more short fish. Overall, we did not really feel any particular pattern. Our best most consistent bite came from brush piles and points with bait fish.
