Fishing Notes

This weekend I was not on the water very much as I was entertaining family and guest at the lake and working on the next editions of the Fishing News. I did fish a bit on Saturday, catching 4 short ones and a small keeper in about 2 hours fishing the no wake area of between the Glaize and Osage from about 10:30-1:00. Most of my bites came on a DD 22 in bright colors and also on a 3/4oz Shaker Head. On Saturday I ran to Possum Hollow in Linn Creek to take some photos for a featured cove article and to Racetrack cove at the 27mm to get pictures. I flipped a 10″ plastic worm in shade and under swim docks, catching a few shorts and one small keeper. I fished from about 9:00-10:30. Jack Uxa, Bassing Bob Expert, www.fishinglakeoftheozarks.com, reported catching 6 keepers and a 5 pounder in the Gravois, fishing brush piles with a big Texas Rigged Worm. If you want to catch some fish during this tough time of the year, you should do yourself a favor and call Jack at 573-434-2570 and book a guide trip with him. I will back his guarantee that you will catch fish, as a BB member if you do not, I personally will cover the money back guarantee. Jack will not only get you on the fish, but teach you and show you the current pattern that you can then use in the following days during the summer. I will be off the lake today and tomorrow, hopefully receiving some member reports as my boat is out the water for a well deserved bath and manicure, ahead of heading to Grand Lake on Thursday for this weekends Big Bass Bash. If you can make, come to Grand and join, Jack, Wayne and the Dills for a weekend of BBB fishing and get together for some cold ones at Grand on Saturday night. If you want to come, let me know, bob@bassingbob.com, I have reserved a few extra rooms at Stoney Brook Inn Hotel.
