Fishing Notes

I had a few hours to fish this afternoon and the plan was to target docks. With the cooler weather for the month of July my curiosity was to see what fish could be caught shallow around docks.
The first keeper was caught near the main point inside the creek on the first dock in a small jet ski well in 10 feet of water. We fished many docks thoroughly from the main point to the back of the cove. I fished a buzzbait quite a bit along the sides and behind the docks. Had a huge blow up behind a dock on the buzzbait as it just crossed the submerged wire. Was hoping for a super early fall pattern with the buzzbait but just was not happening this afternoon. Missed another on the a jig on the back side of the dock in 6 feet of water. The second keeper was caught between docks in about 8 feet of water. Although deep structure fishing has been producing some nice fish lately, we wanted to experiment with shallow water dock fishing.
