Fishing Notes |

This morning I got on the water just before 6AM to sink a few more brush piles and get a couple of hours of fishing in before I head to STL later this morning for Cards/Red Sox game tonight. I think I ought to stop hitting my snooze button in the morning as the early morning bite was very good and fun, catching 4 keepers within about an 1 hour plus on the 10″ plastic worm. I started off the morning checking on some of the deep brush piles that I have put out the past few days, no bites yet on those piles, but at least now I can locate and cast right to them for future use. I decided to try some shallow fishing this morning, throwing the plastic worm right to the bank behind and between docks with shade, the bass were hitting the worm either immediately when it hit bottom or just after a few hops/drags. Shade, rocks and some shallow weeds/grass seemed to be the key to the bite. Finally, you may notice that my pics today are in my boat slip as several members have asked me to be a bit more discreet when taking pictures as I may inadvertently be on their honey holes. I completely respect that request. So, the past few days, I have either been turning my boat so that specific identifiable locations are not visible or putting the fish in my live well for 10 – 15 minutes while I move to an area that does not specifically identify a spot. If you have any questions about fishing locations or patterns in a specific area of the lake, just send me an email and I will help you out without identifying others honey holes. Thanks for your understanding. |
