Fishing Notes |

After a very enjoyable day fishing today with David Brcic, I fished the Thursday Night 3 Fish Limit tournament out of PB2 solo. I could have used Dave in the back of the boat to land some big ones as I was only able to get one good bite all evening. At the start I was feeling pretty good, in the first 15 minutes I had my fist bite a small 15″ keeper in a bluff cut. Then I proceeded to catch a bunch of short fish the remainder of the evening. I mostly targeted brush piles around docks in 5′-15′ of water and some brush piles that I recently sank in small coves and secondary points. My second bite of the evening did not come until about 8:30, right at dark, getting a shallow bite of short fish on the bank in 3′-6′ of water. I was just never able to get any big bites. The 3 fish limit tournament is a lot of fun as even with just one small keeper in the box, my attention to fishing and confidence never faded as there are times when you can get two big bites in a short period of time. Thanks Greg for putting on such a fun tournament for us average anglers only. |
