Fishing Notes

This morning and early afternoon was really fun as I was fishing with “The Great Wayne” Fitzpatrick, owner of Fitz Fishing in Osage Beach. We were flipping our baits under swim docks and between the floats of docks in 5′-20′ of water. The key to the bite today was to have bait fish in the general area of the docks that we were fishing. Wayne, as always puts on a show when fishing, this guy can just simply catch em. His first bite was a small keeper, then a 3 pounder, then (2) 4 pounders and as if building to a crescendo, he caught a 7 pounder. As you will see from the pics, the 7 pounder was a fat giant. Wayne set the hook on it and the fish nearly took his rod out of his hand. After a hard fight in close quarters, I was able to lip the fish into the boat. It looked like a massive pig as it was not long but so fat. I caught a few including one 5 pounder under a dock. The Missile D-Bomb on Waynes Keeper Head, exclusively available at Fitz Fishing in Osage Beach, was the bait that Wayne nailed all of those keepers with. My fish, including 5 pounder came on the brush hog, also rigged on Waynes Keeper Head. If you like to throw creature baits and worms, it is a must that you use some of these heads. Just go to Fitz Fishing and ask Wayne for some of these heads. Hurry however, as Wayne makes these custom and they go fast. You might want to call Fitz Fishing and ask Wayne to put a few aside for you if you do not plan to be here soon.
