Fishing Notes |
---|
After a day doing some filming and photo work, with legend Bill Davenport, it was hard for me to not want to fish deep structure, Bill’s specialty. I fished from about 5:30PM to 8:30PM. After fishing some deep brush piles to start off without a bite, I moved to some slightly tapering long points since there was heavy generation of water through the dam. I finally caught my first fish about 7:00PM, a small keeper in about 25′ of water on a long point on the Chompers Davenport Special Jig, I caught a few more short fish on the point. As it started to get darker I wanted to work more brush piles close to docks. The bait fish were pretty thick high in the water column, so I threw the buzz bait for a bit, with only one small one caught. I got a three pounder off of a brush pile in about 18′ of water near a condo dock with the brush hog and then another keeper shortly after that from another brush pile close to a residential dock, in about 15′ of water on the brush hog. It seems like fall junk fishing is starting awfully early…tonight a bite on buzz bait, jig and brush hog. There are many patterns that are working right now. |
