Fishing Notes

As the tournament season is coming on soon, and I have chosen to take the boater side in the FLW BFL tournament the end of September (yikes) versus being a co-angler which is where I probably belong, I called my good friend Jack Uxa to schedule a guide trip for next week. Jack, owner of Jacks Guide Service, indicated that he had some time this afternoon. Jack would not accept any payment from me, therefore, the first Bassing Bob member to email me, you will receive a free guide trip courtesy of Bassing Bob, email me at bob@bassingbob.com. My objective with Jack was to have him show me some coves in the Tan Tara – Linn Creek area that set-up good for that shallow dock bite and to monitor my technique for skipping docks for any tweaks or tunes necessary. Jack showed me some good coves where the shallow dock bite should set up well, but due to the lowering of the lake water and the warming water temperatures the 2-4′ of water docks just were not producing big fish, we did catch a lot of short ones. So Jack took me to another large cove where the backs of this cove has a bit deeper water 6′-10′ of water with a lot of bait fish. Has Jack has done for me over many years now, he made the right adjustment and I caught our first keeper a 16 incher and then in less than 15 minutes two 4.5 pound hawgs. Jack does it again for me, puts, me on the good fish. If you are not the lucky one to send me the first email for a guide trip with Jack, I would encourage you all to call Jack at 573-434-2570 and schedule a trip with Jack, especially if you are preparing for a tournament. Jack does so many guide trips everywhere on LOZ, just name the area of the lake and Jack will get you on the fish and point you in the right direction and the right spots.
