Fishing Notes

This morning my grandson Landon and his friend Jack and I got on the water about 9:00 and fished for about an hour, Jack and Landon fished as I trolled them around. The fish were caught on a wacky worm on a wacky worm head, sold at Fitz Fishing. If you want to get young kids a bite from a bass, this is by far the best combination this time of the year. This afternoon I got back on the water about 12:30, solo. I caught several short fish and two small keepers off of brush piles on a secondary point with wind. I am not much of a crank bait fisherman, but I did catch a few on it today with the wind blowing directly in the point and fishing over the top of deep brush piles. Then as I was trolling to pick-up my granddaughter and her friends, I continued to search for deep brush. I caught the 5 pounder on a brush pile on a main point in 20+ feet of water on the Davenport Special Jig. That is multiple keepers and bites on that jig in the past week or so, its an awesome jig designed by an all time great fisherman Bill Davenport. Then I picked up the girls, three of them fishing, all under the age of 10. They got bit on the wacky worm on wacky worm head over about 10-15′ of water with wind hitting the bank. Sorry but our website is having problems uploading photos right now, check back momentarily for pics of todays catch and baits used.
