Fishing Notes |
---|
Today I got on the water about 11:00 and fished til 2:00. The conditions were tough with a lingering rain and moderate wind. Parts of the lake are starting to turn over, it seemed that the water just past the toll bridge had some of the turnover look to it. I started out fishing toward the backs of coves dragging a brush hog and jig to see if the fish might be relating to the run-off of the rain in the backs of creeks. I also flipped a few brush piles, fished some secondary points and main lake points with the jig, brush hog, DD22 and senco. It took an hour and a half to get my first bite a short one on the Crock-o-Gator Buzz Bait on a main lake point on the main lake side of the point in about 6′ of water. I continued to work all around main lake points and just inside the points that had big rocks shallow. I caught a couple of shorts, then a solid 4-5 pounder busted on the buzz bait on the inside part of the point about 20 yards in. The past few days it seemed that the closer I got to the dam, the water started to lose that turnover color and the fish would bite better. |
