Fishing Notes

Today I fished from 1:00PM – 5:00 PM. As I am not practicing for an up-coming tournament and coming off of a disappointing tournament result yesterday, today I just went fishing with a lot of baits, just to see if I could figure anything out and generally just kind of doing some goofing off fishing. The first point that I came to at the 18mm was loaded with bait fish and fish from 8 feet to 40 feet deep. There were several periodic swirls on these bait fish. I started out throwing the jig, then proceeded to throw a senco on a shaker head, a DD22, a spook, a buzz bait, a swim bait and even a jerk bait and after about an hour of trying to get just one bite, I gave up and moved onto some other main lake points with docks and cuts just off the main lake, where I caught some shorts on the fronts of the docks and dock corners with the spinner bait and wacky style senco. My only keeper today was off an isolated dock on the main lake over 90′ of water with the spinner bait. The backs of many creeks are starting to get a healthy population of bait fish as is common in the fall at LOZ, I fished for about 45 minutes in the back of a couple of these coves with no black bass bites, however I did have some fun catching several white bass that were busting on the bait fish.
