Fishing Notes |
---|
After getting my butt kicked by the bass on Wednesday in the Glaize, the last couple of days I have fished my way down toward the dam, yesterday fishing the 18mm – 11mm and today fishing the 10mm – 8mm. For the most part I have been staying pretty close to the main lake with a few exceptions that I have ventured to the back of a some short coves. Today I fished main lake points and short pockets/coves on the eastern banks (I think that would be east), same side as Alhonna. My best and most consistent bite today was on a 10″ power work working it along side of docks, in dock wells and in brush piles. As I recently had a guide trip with Terry Blankenship to learn more about my Humminbird 360 Imaging graph, I have been mostly working with that to see brush piles and/or something/anything on the bottom that the graph picks up. It is a truly amazing device as I can see bottom structure/cover before I get to it, cast to it and 7 times out of 10 I hit something, a big rock, brush, log, etc. Today I caught my biggest fish from a brush pile that my graph picked up that was in an open dock well, I saw it before I came to it, flipped in the well, felt the brush pile and bang a nice 3 pounder. I also had some bites today swimming the spinner bait on the windy side of docks, mostly either the 1st -3rd docks in a cove or main lake docks. As there are many tournaments including the Alhonna tournament (that I am not fishing due to being MC for the High School Tourney), so I plan to go the other way tomorrow toward Linn Creek and Hurricane Deck bridge. Good luck to all of you Bassing Bob members that are fishing tournaments this weekend. Let me know how you do and if I can help at all shoot me an email at bob@bassingbob.com |
