Fishing Notes

While I got on the water about 2:30 today, just as I started to fish a thunder storm developed and I headed for cover as there was a lot of lightning. The storm passed and I started to fish about 3:30 and fished until 6:30. After last nights Bassing Bob Experts video meeting (will be posted tomorrow evening), I had a lot of confidence and wanted to go test out the experts recommendations of fishing the big black rocks with the spinner bait, buzz bait and 1/2 oz jig. Their recommendations were right on. I caught several fish in a short time today, the 3 keepers were all small keepers, but I had some really good blow ups on the buzz bait, maybe short strikes of perhaps just my slow response to set the hook. I tried to fish as much shade and chop as possible. With heavy chop I fished the spinner and got bit with light chop I fished the buzz bait and when the water was slack n calm I fished the jig. All bites today came in 2′-4′ of water. I just kept the foot on the trolling motor and fished the main lake points into the first dock and also fished main lake rocky/bluffs. Early evening I kept throwing the buzz bait with a bit stronger chop and I had some big blow ups very close to the bank. I will be off the water tomorrow til Saturday afternoon, as I will be in STL seeing my 9 grandkids for Halloween. Any member fishing reports would be very welcome. Happy Halloween Fisherman and Thank You so much for your membership!!!! It is all of you that keep this web site going.
