I was able to get out this evening and try my luck in the strong wind we had all day. Knowing that the wind was blowing as strong as it was I didn’t wast any time hitting windy main lake points. Now that it gets dark by five i knew my time was limited!! so i idled to the end of my cove on the 23MM and saw the wind crashing straight in on the point. I threw my war eagle spinner bait in and on the first cast caught a solid keeper close to 3 pounds.. on the very next cast i caught a small keeper!! i was pretty excited after that!! i figured i would travel down the lake and hit every main lake point with wind crashing in on it. So I hit at least 5 more points before dark catching a couple more shorts and a big crappie!!! thats right i said it crappie he hit the spinner bait also!! unfortunately i had to get back in around 5 if i didn’t have to go in i might have put my lights in and fished all night for the bite was pretty good!! |
