Fishing Notes |

Rob and I will be fishing a tournament on Sunday, so today was our first day of practice to check out different patterns on the lake. Today we mostly targeted brush piles throwing the brush hog, jig and 10″ plastic worm in brush that was in 8′ – 15′ of water. While we were seeing some good fish in these brush piles in the lower end we never could get a big bite. We also threw DD 22’s over these brush piles, but the big ones were just not biting. We caught several short fish and one keeper. I think that this bite could be good, but in slacker water as we were fishing main lake brush and brush about 1/2 way back into the coves where we were seeing the most bait fish. Other areas of the lake with brush could be good, however, chasing the wind and shade will likely be the best as we did have several blow ups on top water and bites on the spinner bait. |
