Fishing Notes |

Today I fished the US Anglers Choice tournament solo as my partner Wayne Fitzpatrick was sick and unable to fish. I had tons of confidence to get a few good ones as the past two weeks have produced some nice fish on a consistent pattern of top water and spinner bait. I started out fishing the mid Glaize area, however the water temperatures was in the high 40’s-51, so I quickly moved out of that area to the Osage. I ran about 20+ spots that I had confidence could produce a good bite. With no keepers by noon, I switched to flipping a jig behind docks with the same structure, but just could not get big bites. Overall a tough and disappointing day. The tournament was won by Mark Wiese, he is an amazing fisherman to catch 17 pounds while most anglers struggled. |
