Fishing Notes |
---|
It was so nice to be back on the water today, after being in St.Louis for a week. I was excited about getting out and throwing the jerk bait, for its one of my favorite baits. I got out about 1 0clock, and didn’t have to go far to find good wind. The point at the mouth of my cove had perfect conditions for throwing winter time stick baits! It didn’t take very long to get good results. I fished my point for about 15minutes and boated 3 fish one being a nice large mouth keeper the other was a KY keeper, and also a short fish. I took this pattern towards Tan Tara Resort, picking up a number of fish. I fished down to the 29mm around race track cove. The bite stayed pretty consistent threw the whole stretch. I was able to catch 6 keepers but all were small keepers, 4 of them being KY keepers. I did have one fish that probably was around 4-5 pounds come off right at the boat. I tried pulling this fish up into the boat and he came off right in front of me!! The rest of the day i kept my net handy!!!! Overall i was pleased to see a couple of good keeper large mouth hit the jerk bait. Its only going to get better the next couple weeks! |
