Fishing Notes |

Finally a consistent bite. After struggling for a week after the buzz bait and spinner bait bite turned off for me, today was much better. This morning I restrung all of my rods to prepare for winter fishing with the jerk bait, small jigs and A-Rig. I got on the water about 2:00 and fished until 5. I fished in my backyard, which I am most familiar, the Glaize, to try and establish some sort of consistent bite. The bite started good with the jerk bait on a windy bank in party cove, however those first two bites were big white bass. I moved to a few more points in that area with no bites. I then moved to the bluffy, really big rock points in the lower Glaize, fishing the points that had wind hitting directly on the banks and that is when I started to get bit. Most bites were fairly shallow in 3′-8′ of water. While none of the keepers were hawgs, it felt good to have a consistent bite and establish something to build on the coming days/weeks. |
