Today was a blast fishing with Lake of the Ozarks #1 Fishing Guide, Jack Uxa. Jack recently purchased a jet boat so that he can take customers to the river areas of Lake of the Ozarks and other shallow water ways that Jack will take customers. The jet boat was awesome, plenty of room for rods, tackle, etc., it ran great we buzzed right over shallow flats in the river area of the Glaize. We really did not know what to expect as it was the first time that Jack or I have been that far up the Glaize. The fishing started out a bit slow, but then we found a stretch of the river area where the fish were holding. With the water temperature at 42-43 degrees the fish were behaving like winter bass generally do, all of our bites came on both banks in about 100 yard stretch. Some fish were relating to wood and lay downs while others seemed to be just off the bank in deeper pools of water. We fished about 4-5 miles of the river all the way past the swinging bridges. Today was one of those fun fishing days that I will never forget. Now I just need to try to figure out if I can get my Ranger Boat into that area with the water being up, I am hoping I can find a way to navigate to that area as it was the best bite that I have had in a while. I would encourage you all to hire Jack for a river guide trip in his Jet Boat, you will love it. |
