Fishing Notes

Today I got on the water about 3:00 and fished til 5. Knowing that I was only going to be on the water a couple of hours, I did a hit and run style of fishing, fishing some creeks/coves in the area of the Glaize bridge, starting out in the back fourth of the creek where the water was about 15-20′. I caught two short fish on my first 4 casts on the Dirks Jig. I then moved a couple of times to other creek banks with no bites, then finished the last 40 minutes on a creek channel bank toward the back of my cove and had several short fish and one small keeper. All of the fish today came in about 6′-12′ of water on the Dirks Jig. Dirks Jigs are available exclusively at Fitz Fishing Tackle and Supplies in Osage Beach. Fitz just got in a new supply of about 80 of these jigs. Other than the Crock-o-Gator Bitsy Bug and Zapper Jig, Dirks Jig is one of the very best jigs for catching cold water bass on Lake of the Ozarks. They sell fast so either call Wayne to put a couple aside or go to Fitz and get a few.
