Fishing Notes |
---|
Today I got on the water to fish about 2 and fished until 5:00. I am wanting to start exploring big coves/creeks that I have not fished much or at all before. Today I was in a creek/cove that locals refer to as “Deer Valley, lake name is Lynch Hollow Cove. It is a pretty big cove with lots of side pockets and depth transitions. I started out today pretty much at the very first secondary point and the first cut on the north side, as there seemed to be steep banks with good water depth. I fished mostly in between docks with the stick bait and A-Rig. I had a few short fish on the stick bait. Toward the end of the day, I moved to the south bank working my way out of from the back of the creek and started fishing on the first secondary point that I could sit my boat in at least 15′ of water. I caught a nice 3 pounder on the stick bait on a secondary point that had a creek coming directly out from a very short cove. After I fished, I idled out of the cove scanning the remainder of the south side bank and saw a lot of bait fish and steeper banks about 1/2 way in the cove and out to the main point. I will continue to explore this cove over the coming days/weeks as it seems to have some good banks, transition and creek channels that come close to the bank. |
