Fishing Notes

Today i was fortunate enough to go fishing with my good friend Vern Jaycoxs. Today i filmed some footage of Vern stick bait fishing, so members stay tuned for the video. It will be uploaded to web site soon. The day couldn’t have started better! the first piece of bank we pulled up to Vern caught a keeper right away. Then we headed further back in the creek. The wind was blowing straight out of the creek heading towards the main channel, so Vern tucked the boat on the side of a secondary point so the wind wouldn’t blow us around. He threw back towards the wind and slowly retrieved the stick bait back to the boat. This spot was on fire! Vern caught 3 keepers in a matter of 15 minutes, one being a giant KY.At this point i had to put down the video camera and get a piece of the action! By the time we left this spot we had boated 6 keepers and a couple shorts. As the day went on the bite got a little tougher. Vern and i were really looking for new banks around the dam that i can fish for my Joe Bass tourney this weekend. It seems that these fish are wanting that stick bait paused, thats how are better bites came. Today was an awesome day. Not only did we catch alot of fish, every time im with Vern i learn something new that is very valuable.
