Fishing Notes

Today I took a ride to 35mm area, I’ve been wanting to get up there for a while now. The water was a bit colder than the mid lake to dam also a bit more stained. While I am not too familiar with that area, I had a few banks recommended to me. I fished a good looking bank in Red Oak’s cove, a couple of good ones in Captains Ron’s cove and a couple in a cove about 2 miles up from the bridge. The bait fish and fish seemed to be relating to the bottom well off the bank, the only two bites that I had was on the Chompers jig in 15′ brush piles. My good friend and fishing legend, Bill Davenport reported catching 6 keepers today in the Glaze. While Bill did not specify baits, no doubt they came on a Chompers Jig or jerk bait.
