Bassing Bob Members,

Hello everyone I hope you are all doing well, and fishing when its not arctic out!! I wanted to give you all an update on Bob and his health. As most of you know Bob underwent heart surgery January 3rd in St. Louis. The heart surgery was a huge success! Though, during early recovery we did unfortunately have a few setbacks. We now have him at the rehabilitation center where he will have to spend some time to get strong again. Bob is in great spirits and is more motivated than ever to get back to the place he loves! If anyone of you have any questions and or just want to talk fishing feel free to reach out to me or Steve Heitman. Most the time you guys know where to find me at Fitz’s. I will do my best to update Bobs status regularly. Thank you all for always being supportive of Bassing Bob, and Bob himself!!

Sincerely,
Bassin Rob!!!

Fishing Notes

Today I picked the wrong time to get on the water. I got on the water about 2. When I started to fish there was a slight wind and no icing on my guides or line. After about 20 minutes, the wind started gusting, the clouds got darker and the air got a lot colder. By the time I finished fishing, it was severely cold, sleeting and the wind was howling. I tried to find some areas out of the wind, but with the strong north east wind, even in steep banked pockets and coves, the wind was swirling and the whole situation was very difficult to fish and to stay comfortable. While for the most part, I was not cold, as I am kind of used to dressing for this cold stuff, I just could not keep my hands warm enough. I did notice today that a lot of the bait fish seemed to have been sucked my the current generation to the mid to top ends of coves and a lot of bait fish around condo docks.
