Bassing Bob Members,

Hello everyone I hope you are all doing well, and fishing when its not arctic out!! I wanted to give you all an update on Bob and his health. As most of you know Bob underwent heart surgery January 3rd in St. Louis. The heart surgery was a huge success! Though, during early recovery we did unfortunately have a few setbacks. We now have him at the rehabilitation center where he will have to spend some time to get strong again. Bob is in great spirits and is more motivated than ever to get back to the place he loves! If anyone of you have any questions and or just want to talk fishing feel free to reach out to me or Steve Heitman. Most the time you guys know where to find me at Fitz’s. I will do my best to update Bobs status regularly. Thank you all for always being supportive of Bassing Bob, and Bob himself!!

Fishing Notes

Ok, so this is the second day in a row without a single bite and only 2 short fish in the last 3 days. Something must be going on with the fish, certainly it could not be the fisherman…smile. Today again, there was heavy generation of water through the dam, the water level is rapidly lowering, which my guess is starting to affect the fish, moving them off the banks out of the back areas of creeks. Again today, I saw plenty of bait fish at varying levels of the water column, the fish seemed to be holding on the bottom or just under the bait fish. I am seeing fish on brush piles, but I have not been able to catch them, throwing the A-rig, stick bait and jig. Today was sunny and the water was rather flat, however, in previous winters I have been able to catch em on such days. Perhaps the combination of generation, the cold front that came through yesterday and the sunny/calm day had them shut down. Hopefully I will get em tomorrow, if not, I may have to take up bowling in the winter or learn how to crappie fish.
