Fishing Notes |

Ok, so this is the second day in a row without a single bite and only 2 short fish in the last 3 days. Something must be going on with the fish, certainly it could not be the fisherman…smile. Today again, there was heavy generation of water through the dam, the water level is rapidly lowering, which my guess is starting to affect the fish, moving them off the banks out of the back areas of creeks. Again today, I saw plenty of bait fish at varying levels of the water column, the fish seemed to be holding on the bottom or just under the bait fish. I am seeing fish on brush piles, but I have not been able to catch them, throwing the A-rig, stick bait and jig. Today was sunny and the water was rather flat, however, in previous winters I have been able to catch em on such days. Perhaps the combination of generation, the cold front that came through yesterday and the sunny/calm day had them shut down. Hopefully I will get em tomorrow, if not, I may have to take up bowling in the winter or learn how to crappie fish. |
