Hurricane Deck bridge area and Upper Niangua, fishing creek channel banks mid way to the backs of coves/creeks. Long pauses between jerks.

Fishing Notes

Today Wayne and I fished from aabout 12:30 – 5:30. We ran above the Hurricane Deck bridge area and targeted creek channel banks mid way to the back of coves. We noticed on most of the spots we pulled up to that the bait fish were continuing to hold in the creek channels. The banks we fished are typical good wintertime 45 degree banks, close to deep water. However, the bite was virtually non existent. We caught 3 small keepers one of which being a KY. We threw the A-Rig, Stick Bait, Tube and Jig, but the bite is was very tough. The water above the bridge was rather stained, as we moved to the mouth of the Niangua the water was a bit clearer but still slightly stained. As Wayne likes to say, “the fish seem to have a belly ache”. The bite this week has been pretty tough.
