Fishing Notes |
---|
These past two days, Sunday and Monday, I ventured onto the water in the mid afternoon and fished both days until about 5:30. The air was very cold, the wind was strong and the fishing really sucked. Ok, so these are the times when fishing can be very humbling. While I was very warm on the water, with the exception of my hands, which get cold, but thankfully I always have “Hot Hands” in my pockets for that temporary warm up. I tried to hide from the wind, but that was difficult as the wind would swirl even into the pockets that I fished that normally would be protected from a north wind. I fished the stick bait the entire time, as the ice that would form on my guides of my rod would make it too difficult to throw a jig and feel the bite and I seem to always get the braid of my A-Rig all fouled up in the freezing conditions. From what I could see on my graph, the fish were relating to the bottom and thus I lost a lot of confidence fishing with the stick bait. The good news, is that it was rather beautiful out today with the snow. The other good news was that I was fishing in February, last February the lake was frozen for the majority of the month. only another month til spring, yeah!!! |
