Well were are back from beautiful Las Vegas, and couldn’t wait to go fishing!! I started the day filming local pro Mike Malone fishing the A-Rig. Mike and i knew it would be tough to get a bite considering the fast fall of the lakes water temp, and the abundance of ice on the lake. Mike fished for about 3 hours with not a single bite. As i left the boat ramp i got a call from Bob asking me if i wanted to hop in the boat with him. It was a no brainer i said lets go! I told dad Mikes fishing report and we knew we were in for a tough afternoon. We started in Chimney cove where we were able to locate bait fish and bass on a channel bank. We just couldn’t get the bass to bite. I threw the Pro Blue 2 stick bait and dad threw the jig on the bottom, and no takers on either bait. At this time we had alot of wind hitting that bank, i personally think when the water is this cold the fish do not like being in the cold wind.We moved on to a cove across the lake from Chimney, where the wind wasnt as strong. We were able to locate bait again. This time of year this is key! We fished in there for two hours and was able to catch one tiny bass. I wish i had a better report to give you guys, but with the lake drawn down the cold, and ice we havent been able to get the fish to bite. We see them mainly on steep channel banks inside the coves. |
