Fishing Notes

It felt good to get on a familiar lake this afternoon fishing the FLW BFL tournament on Grand Lake this weekend. While I did not catch any fish, at least I knew some spots to go check out versus fishing somewhat in the blind on Grand lake. I started off fishing around the toll bridge area, but lost confidence quickly as the water temp was 38 and the water was quite stained. I then ran to the Gravois to hopefully find some clearer water, however the water there was slightly stained and the temps were a little warmer but not much. I fished a couple of secondary points and also went the very back of Racoon cove to see if any fish might have started to get back into those areas. I then went to the Dam area, again hoping to find clearer and warmer water. The water was a bit warmer 40-41 but there is a slight stain to that water too. There are a lot of dying shad, there is still some ice in some pockets and between some docks that I was hoping to fish. Hopefully a few days of warm temperatures will warm the water more and get the fish to start biting again.
